"Ozio"

Over time, the Italian word “ozio” has acquired negative connotations as a synonym for inactivity, laziness, inertia. It was not always an expression of social disapproval however. Originally, it was used to denote an occupation which was mainly concerned with intellectual meditation, an activity set aside for the ruling classes, in contrast with the concept of negotium, meaning dealing with one’s own business more out of necessity than by choice (neg meaning “not”, and otium “pleasure”).
We have decided to re-propose the original concept of “Otium” in order to help you rediscover the pleasure of switching off and allowing yourself to delight in the simple enjoyment of time, in the company of a wine that is capable of sharing these moments of inner joy and calm.

The picture

This wine’s label portrays a painting kindly donated to me by my dear friend, Claudio Sardo, an artist from Cuneo. Straightforward and reserved though he may be, he encapsulates in his soul - and manages to express in his creations - rare painting skills combined with great humanity, sensitivity and respect for others. This is why I believe it’s right to dedicate this catalogue to him, as a way of thanking him directly and expressing my deep gratitude and friendship.
